We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our company's finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for constructing internal policies and procedures, managing the monthly close process, and leading the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, is a motivated self-starter, and can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role reports to the Head of Strategic Finance.

What You'll Do:
You will collaborate daily with Operators, Chefs, Engineers, Product Managers, and Senior Leadership on a variety of projects and deliverables that all enhance the financial health of the Company. In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, you will have a unique opportunity to put your mark on the company. This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to lead the development of the accounting function, including building or improving processes and creating efficiencies for the team.

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Ensure that financial statements are delivered in accordance with GAAP
• Review existing processes and systems to identify improvement opportunities with a focus on simplification, standardization, and operational efficiencies
• Lead and manage all month-end close activities
• Maintain accounting ledgers by posting monthly account transactions
• Compile internal tax data for external CPA firm
• Prepare monthly financial statement reporting, consolidations, and trend analysis
• Ensure timely processing of customer payments, credit memos and deductions
• Help foster a culture of continuous improvement mind-set, drive change within the department
• Strong proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools
• Experience with major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting (QuickBooks or ramp a plus)
• IFRS16 Lease Accounting experience is a plus

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA a plus

5+ years of accounting experience, public and private experience preferred

Industry experience in retail, restaurants, consumer products and/or manufacturing preferred

Highly organized, detailed-oriented self-starter who can work independently and within a team

Entrepreneur mindset that can multi-task and remain flexible with changing priorities

Ability to effectively communicate clear and concise ideas verbally and in writing

Creative thinker who can bring innovative ideas and approaches to solve issues

Strong proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools

Experience with major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting (QuickBooks or ramp a plus)

IFRS16 Lease Accounting experience is a plus
