As our UK People Business Partner, you’ll work side by side with Blank Street leaders to help make this the best place to work for our teams. You’ll partner closely with our UK People Director, UK Operations Director, and Field Managers to drive strong engagement, build great people practices, and ensure we’ve got the right processes and compliance in place across our stores.
This role is all about striking the right balance between supporting our people and enabling the business to grow. You’ll help shape a people-first culture by designing scalable programs, spotting opportunities to improve how we work, and rolling out solutions that help us grow in the right way.

Start Something Extraordinary…
As an Operations Manager, you’ll be directly responsible for a specific region - with a team of General Managers reporting into you. You are the main ambassador for your area in the office, and you’ll be accountable for its overall performance, from sales to team culture. You’ll be the connective tissue between stores and HQ, ensuring your region runs smoothly, hits its targets, and feels distinctly Blank Street.
You’ll wear two equally important hats: Strategic Operator and People & Hospitality Leader.
As a Strategic Operator, you’ll own the full P&L for your region - spotting opportunities to improve customer experience and operational performance. You’ll use data to guide decisions, bring sharp commercial instincts, and drive scalable change. Whether it’s rolling out new systems, refining SOPs, or setting a strong weekly rhythm, you’ll translate vision into action and keep everything running smoothly.
As a People & Hospitality Leader, you’ll shape team culture, grow talent, and uphold the highest standards across every store. This is a front-line leadership role - visible, hands-on, and people-first. You’ll lead by example, energize your teams, and help every barista deliver the kind of magic that makes Blank Street special.This is your chance to lead from the front - and start something extraordinary.

What you’ll own:
- Serve as a trusted people partner for our Field across the UK
- Assist in developing and implementing People Team initiatives that focus on employee retention, engagement, development, recognition, compensation, and talent management.
- Proactively assess employee needs by leveraging people metrics. You’ll be counted on to gather people's data, provide insights, recommend appropriate solutions and assist in implementation to drive a better employee experience.
- Be the point of contact for employee relations cases. You’ll be responsible for managing and resolving complex employee relations issues that arise with necessary personnel.
- Partner with key functions to work on and support programs in areas of training, development, career mobility, and performance. You’ll collaborate on strategies and approaches to diagnose and enhance company effectiveness.
- Plan and facilitate company-wide events that promote employee engagement, company values, and gathering.
- Educate and partner with the team on critical employee journey touch points including but not limited to — compensation practices, performance management and calibration, promotions, onboarding and training, and off boarding.
- Partner with managers to develop and implement effective people policies and practices that support the growth and maintenance of a business.
- Provide general people expertise and best practices. The team will come to you as their first point of contact for all things people.
- Collaborate with the People Team to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel inspired to deliver top business results.
- Lead core people processes across the field.
Who you are:
- It starts with a passion for people, but that's just the beginning. We're looking for all that and a little bit more magic
- Experience operating at a senior HR level with demonstrated success in meeting high standards in a high volume, fast-paced field-based environment - Hospitality or retail is highly preferred
- Direct experience in a people business partner/HRBP role
- Hands-on experience as an Operator is preferable
- Deep understanding of UK employee relations policies and practices
- A natural coaching style with the ability to interface and influence at multiple layers of the business
- A self-starter with a can-do, solution-oriented mindset and a positive outlook
- Someone who can see the bigger picture and isn't afraid to get stuck in to make the magic happen
