Finance at Brex

The Finance team leads financial planning and analysis as well as corporate development, which includes board communications, investor relations, fundraising, and M&A. We strive to be agents of change rather than a reporting function. We’re integrated and partner closely with teams across Brex to evaluate key questions, solve problems, and drive results. Through our corporate development efforts, we are also deeply involved in long-term planning and major strategic decisions for the company.

What you’ll do

As a Business Technical Analyst at Brex, you will be responsible for broad ownership of the tools and systems used by our internal business teams. You will develop a deep understanding of our business processes and partner closely with business leadership as their primary point of contact for systems enablement. You will own the strategic roadmap of your tooling stack and ensure it aligns with the goals and priorities of the business. You will master our internal, low-code tooling platforms to build and maintain tooling systems with support from a centralized tooling engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your assigned business area, becoming the principal contact for system enhancements and support.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to identify and enhance business processes.
  • Develop internal tools using a low-code platform in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Manage the strategic roadmap for the tooling solutions in your business domain.
  • Focus on improving end-to-end user experience across these systems to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Regularly report on project progress and system performance against predefined KPIs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in related fields such as business systems, operations, or engineering, preferably in FinTech or Financial Services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Capable of rapidly learning and excelling in new systems and technologies.
  • Proven track record of effectively collaborating with business stakeholders across various levels and backgrounds.
  • English proficiency/fluency, both written and speaking (note: interviews will be conducted in English)
  • Must be willing to work in office 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday.

Bonus Points

  • Experience using Retool.
  • Proficiency in SQL and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with how APIs work and their role in building apps.
  • Background in Risk, Credit, Compliance, Customer Support, or Billing.

Location

  • Must be working in Brazil at the start of role.
