About the Role

Our client is seeking Journeyman CNC Machinists with experience working with steel to join their shop team.

You will operate a CNC lathe or CNC mill to produce custom, precise, machined components, primarily servicing the oil/gas and heavy construction industries.

Responsibilities

• Operate the CNC lathe and/or CNC mill, ensuring accurate cutting of metal components
• Read and interpret drawings and fabrication layouts
• Setup CNC machines, report any required maintenance or repairs, perform routine maintenance
• Operate machines independently and make adjustments as needed
• Work alongside the shop team and manager to ensure all work is completed safely and within scheduled timelines
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Help with various shop related duties as required

Skills and Requirements

CNC Journeyman Machinist designation is required, new certified Journeymen are welcome to apply
• Strong experience operating a CNC lathe and/or CNC mill (experience with both is a plus)
• Experience operating Okuma and/or Haas equipment (strong asset, not mandatory)
• Experience producing custom, low-volume, machined components for oil/gas or heavy construction clients
• Experience machining primarily with steel and other metals
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Ability to find quick solutions and implement them proactively as problems arise day-to-day
