Solution Engineer

Life is short. Work somewhere awesome.

Flare is a breakout cybersecurity Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company with a mission to empower organizations to take control of their data and protect their customers, employees and brand by shedding light on external threats. We enable cybersecurity teams to proactively detect high-risk external exposure across the dark and clear web, before threat actors have a chance to leverage it. We unify the core functionalities of cyber threat intelligence and external attack surface management into a single, intuitive platform.

TL;DR: We are a bunch of nerds who help protect our clients' data (and people in their network) by locating cyber risks.

Your purpose and impact:

  • Partner with the sales team to articulate the value proposition of the Flare platform to our prospective customers
  • Delight our customers by understanding their requirements, fielding technical questions, and demonstrating capabilities platform
  • Develop sample use-cases, technical demos and manage product Proof of Concepts end-to-end
  • Address critical analytical, technical, and operational issues
  • Build relationships with technical stakeholders in customer organizations
  • Training other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services
  • Support other functions within Flare as technical consultant on a variety of projects
  • Support marketing initiatives including attending events, leading speaking engagements and webinars, developing tutorials and other videos, if required
  • Flexibility to travel, if required

You’ll be a perfect fit if:

  • You have significant experience supporting enterprise sales, including managing complex buying committees, aligning with multiple stakeholders, and contributing to successful outcomes in large organizations
  • You are comfortable being the primary technical point of contact during the sales process — steering demos, owning POCs, and proactively resolving blockers
  • You have a strong attention to detail and pride yourself on thoroughness, particularly when handling customer requirements and documentation
  • You consistently keep stakeholders updated throughout project phases and sales cycles — no one ever has to chase you for an update
  • You have relevant experience in a pre and/or post-sales role at a cybersecurity vendor
  • You have cybersecurity, OSINT or threat intelligence experience, with a background in one of the following areas:
    • SOC, SIEM, TIP or SOAR
    • Vulnerability Management (VA/VM)
    • Incident Response
    • Red team
    • Threat Hunting & Research
    • Either product or operational security experience
  • You are confident in collaborating and communicating with both technical and non-technical folks — from incident responders to C-level executives
  • You operate well within structured processes, and you’re not allergic to documentation or workflows
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity in a startup environment. Building the plane as it’s flying
  • You lead with curiosity and empathy in all of your interactions. You give a hoot about your clients and colleagues (a lot of hoots, actually)
  • You thrive on feedback and are motivated to hone your craft. Radical candor is your jam

Nice to haves:

  • You’ve helped build or refine pre-sales and technical sales processes from scratch — and have strong opinions about what makes them scalable, efficient, and customer-centric
  • You’ve created technical enablement content like talk tracks, demo scripts, objection-handling guides, or onboarding decks for both prospects and internal teams
  • You’ve worked closely with product, marketing, or customer success to bring customer insights back into the product or positioning
  • You’re comfortable using and configuring tools that support solution engineering (e.g. demo environments, sandboxed integrations, CRMs, etc.)
  • You’ve worked in an early-stage startup and understand how to balance speed with quality when making customer-facing decisions
  • You’re a Confluence/Google Docs wizard and take pride in leaving behind clear, reusable documentation
  • You don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to handle things slightly outside your job description when it helps the team win
  • French or Spanish is a plus

Location:

  • Remotely, either from North America or from the UK
