Software Development Engineer II - Analytics
Software Engineering, Data Science
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India · Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India
Why this role exists
Every call, every agent, every AI interaction on JustCall generates signals. Sales managers want to know if their team is performing. Support leads want resolution rates and CSAT. Business owners want to connect conversations to revenue.
We have the data. We have AI. What we don't have yet is the system that ties it all together and puts it in front of the people who need it.
That's what this role builds.
We're building analytics as a first-class product - the pipelines, data models, and AI-powered insights layer that give businesses a real window into how their teams perform and their conversations convert.
What you'll actually do
Design and build backend systems powering analytics - dashboards, aggregation pipelines, reporting APIs, and data delivery at scale
Own data architecture decisions: schema design for OLAP workloads, query optimization, partitioning strategies, and indexing across large multi-tenant datasets
Drive scalability work - horizontal scaling, async pipelines, caching layers, and handling high-volume event ingestion without degradation
Wire AI into the analytics layer - LLM-powered summaries, anomaly detection, natural language querying on structured data - you're the engineer making it work in production, not a researcher experimenting in a notebook
Instrument and own observability for the analytics layer - latency tracking, pipeline health, data freshness SLAs
Experience working in cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers. Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Contribute to architectural discussions, and raising the engineering bar across the team
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of professional software engineering experience in a real product environment
Strong backend fundamentals: you're comfortable working across backend, and data layers
Strong experience in NodeJS, SQL, ClickHouse - write clean backend services, model analytical workloads well, and can read a query plan to find where time is lost
Good knowledge of relational and non relational databases along with their use cases.
Excellent debugging and technical investigation skills
Ability to move fast and iterate in ambiguous, greenfield problem spaces: you take ownership and focus on delivering value to users
A data-driven mindset and genuine curiosity about how people use analytics tools
A desire to be on the forefront of leveraging AI to drive product improvement at thousands of companies
Edges that help
Familiarity with analytics and observability platforms
Interest in information retrieval, anomaly detection and statistical analysis
Experience building with LLMs, AI agents, or tool-use frameworks
How we work
Outcomes over output. We measure product impact by retention curves, revenue influence, and customer trust - not features shipped.
High ownership from day one - you'll shape the product org, not inherit a finished one.
Fast cycles, real ambiguity, and the expectation that you bring a sharp point of view and move quickly on it.
Competitive pay tied to the product vision you set and the impact you drive.
The bigger picture
JustCall is SaaS Labs' flagship product - used by 6,000+ businesses across 70+ countries to run their customer conversations. We're backed by Peak XV and Base10 Partners, have crossed $40M ARR, and are building toward $100M with the team, the product, and the infrastructure to get there.
If this is the role you've been waiting to find - let's talk.
SaaS Labs takes pride in being an equal opportunity employer. We believe diverse teams build better products, which is why we're committed to making hiring or any employment decision regardless of race, colour, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other characteristic.
