What You'll Do:
- Hands on Firmware QA Manager who will lead by example in all of the Firmware release efforts
- Hire, mentor and groom Firmware Quality Engineers and Firmware Quality Engineering Leads across multiple geographic locations. This includes providing expert technical guidance,establishing sound release processes and implement device test benches
- Bring state-of-the-art Firmware QA practices by implementing firmware test automation efficiencies and simulation techniques
- Pivot the firmware QA team to test automation and leverage efficiencies thereby bringing in shorter release cycles
- Define metrics-driven goals, establish strong team processes, execution cadence and automation tools to achieve these goals.
- Establish as a subject matter expert on the embedded devices and all of the Motive Products to understand better testability
- Fully owns the processes used across the team and improves them iteratively with tangible feedback.
- Ensuring natural and meaningful coordination with all stakeholders and making effective communication a norm.
What We're Looking For:
- BS in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or related domains
- 2+ years of experience in testing the quality of embedded products.
- 5+ years of experience managing 8-10 QAs and 2+ years of experience managing QA leads
- Experience with testing embedded systems, mobile and web applications.
- As an Engineering Manager the candidate needs to have empathy for ICs, a strong belief and understanding of cultural, moral and ethical values.
- Must lead from the front, not be afraid of challenges, technology and must be forward looking.
- A high degree of comfort with short release cycles, passion for customer adoption and ability to dig into prevention of customer issues
- Demonstrated success in hiring, managing, motivating, and promoting skilled Engineers
- An opinion on and a solid understanding of what makes for a strong, healthy, and productive Engineering culture
- A track record as a strong individual contributor earlier in your career, with continued hands on test approach on a daily basis
