About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Tax Controversy Specialist to join our growing Tax team in Mexico. This role will be responsible for managing and coordinating all stages of tax audits, disputes, and proceedings with Mexican tax authorities (SAT) for our local legal entities. The role requires strong technical tax knowledge, communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

You'll be responsible for

  • Support all stages of tax authority audits and controversies, including Corporate Income Tax (ISR), Value-Added Tax (VAT/IVA), Transfer Pricing, and other local taxes.
  • Assist in the preparation of responses to tax authority information requests (“requerimientos”), resolutions, and legal filings.
  • Support in “Cartas invitación” and requests from PRODECON
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance) to ensure timely and accurate information gathering during audits.
  • Work alongside advisory and planning teams to align technical positions and maintain consistency across tax filings and audit responses.
  • Monitor ongoing tax audits, identify risks or developments, and communicate potential financial or reputational impacts to Tax leadership.
  • Track deadlines, manage documentation, and maintain audit readiness for all relevant Mexican entities.
  • Support litigation or settlement processes, including interactions with external counsel or advisors as needed.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Tax Controversy, Audit Defense, or Tax Advisory – ideally with exposure to tech/financial services or regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations, audit procedures, and SAT processes.
  • Experience working with Transfer Pricing documentation and controversy is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish; proficiency in English is required (written and spoken).
