About the Team:
Nubank is seeking a dynamic and experienced specialist to join our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Risk Governance team. This pivotal role will play a critical part in shaping Nubank's risk management framework and ensuring robust governance practices across the organization.
The global ERM and Risk Governance team is established to deliver the company's Risk Management Framework and ensure we have best-in-class Risk Governance.
The candidate will work across the Risk functions in the firmwide and the country-based risk teams (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and more to come!), as well as partner with groups including Financial and Non-Financial Risk Teams, Compliance, Legal, and 1st Line of Defense.
The Global ERM and Risk Governance team partners with each area impacting risk management to ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory frameworks for Enterprise Risk Management within each country Nubank operates and ensure Nubank operates to make our risk function as effective and impactful as possible.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure effective oversight of risk governance activities within the organization, including policy development, review, and implementation
- Monitor adherence to risk governance frameworks and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements for each of the geographies in which Nubank operates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement enterprise-wide risk management strategies and frameworks.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify emerging risks to Nubank's business operations, products, and services.
- Assist in the design and enhancement of risk governance processes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide insightful risk analysis and recommendations, driving informed decision-making and risk mitigation efforts.
- Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Run risk governance agendas and ensure adherence both to risk governance frameworks and regulatory requirements, especially those regarding enterprise risk management
- Provide support for risk governance meetings (including risk committees, forums, and Board meetings) ensuring that all the instances are provided with timely and accurate information to fulfill its oversight responsibilities effectively
- Contribute to the development of risk training and awareness programs for employees to promote a strong risk culture within the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risk trends to inform risk management strategies and initiatives.
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise risk management (ERM) initiatives, including the development of risk appetite frameworks, risk management frameworks (RMF), and integrated risk reporting mechanisms.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of core regulatory risk reports, including ICAAP and Pillar 3.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, or a Risk Management related field.
- Proven expertise in risk management
- Experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies, frameworks, and policies
- Solid knowledge of banking and financial regulations (e.g., Basel III, local regulations) and Enterprise Risk Management regulatory requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities, adept at engaging with senior leaders, regulators, and internal/external auditors.
- Advanced/Fluent in English, with exceptional communication skills to articulate complex risk scenarios and strategies effectively.
- Proficiency in using risk management software, tools, and agile methodologies is highly preferred.
- An ability to navigate and thrive in a technology-driven environment, with a strategic mindset towards leveraging technology in risk management to transform our day-to-day.
- Experience with integrated management would be a PLUS
- Experience with other risk verticals (non-financial, capital management, etc) would be a PLUS
- Experience with Emergent Risk methodologies would be a PLUS
