Technical Program Manager - Product Operations
Nubank
About the Team
Nu's Legal Team has the special mission of protecting the company’s interests and reputation while supporting the launch and sustainable growth of our products. We operate not just as a support function, but as a strategic partner, delivering specialized legal assessments and proposing innovative solutions for the challenges of a digital environment in constant evolution. We are committed to mitigating legal risks, anticipating issues, and resolving disputes efficiently.
About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to join the Legal team. In this role, you will act as the technical bridge between Legal, Product Engineering, Data Science, and InfoSec.
You will not just manage timelines; you will architect the operational strategy for our legal technology stack. You will be responsible for building a world-class platform that enables the Legal area to scale efficiently, combining specialized legal mandates with a strong focus on technology, AI, and data-driven solutions.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy. You are expected to be a key problem-solver who can break down complex regulatory and operational problems, synthesizing them into technical requirements and actionable roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Program Leadership (TPM & Agile)
-
- Roadmap Architecture: Translate ambiguous strategic legal goals into actionable technical roadmaps. Manage the full lifecycle of complex, cross-functional programs from conception to launch.
- Agile Governance: Implement and adapt Agile methodologies for the Legal context. Lead planning cycles, manage backlogs, run ceremonies, and ensure predictable delivery velocity across technical vendors and internal engineering partners.
- Dependency Management: proactively identify risks, technical blockers, and critical path dependencies between the Legal stack and Nu’s core banking systems.
- Data Strategy & AI Implementation
-
- AI/ML Delivery: Lead the development and deployment tracking of AI and ML solutions within Legal. Partner with Data Science teams to operationalize models for litigation volume forecasting, judicial outcome prediction, and contract analysis.
- Analytics Architecture: Direct the analytics function to generate dashboards and predictive analyses. Ensure that legal data is structured, governed, and integrated effectively with Nu's broader business data ecosystem (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.).
- Technology & Integration Strategy
-
- Tech Stack Ownership: Oversee the full lifecycle (selection, procurement, architecture, integration) of legal technology platforms (CLM, ELM, eDiscovery).
- System Integration: Drive the strategy for integrating legal tools with internal systems. Ensure seamless API connectivity and data flow between Legal and upstream/downstream stakeholders (Finance, HR, Product).
- Vendor Technical Management: Manage the operational performance and SLAs of all technology suppliers, ensuring they meet Nu’s high standards for security and scalability.
- Process Engineering & Scalability
-
- Automation: Drive operational excellence by identifying manual workflows and replacing them with automated, scalable solutions.
- Budget & Resource Efficiency: Control the efficiency of the legal tech budget. Oversee provision modeling and vendor spend optimization, coordinating with controllership to ensure resources are allocated to high-impact technical initiatives.
Key Deliverables
- Lead strategic initiatives to transform Legal into a "Product," enhancing technology-driven efficiency and reducing manual toil.
- Establish a robust data governance framework that allows for real-time decision-making and AI readiness.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and Agile discipline within the Legal Operations function.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Product Operations, or Engineering, with significant exposure to Legal Tech, Compliance, or FinTech environments.
- TPM Mastery: Proven track record of managing complex, multi-quarter technical roadmaps. Deep expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies is required.
- Technical & Analytical Depth: Strong understanding of system architecture (APIs, integrations), data modeling, and AI/ML lifecycles. SQL proficiency is highly preferred, as is the ability to discuss technical trade-offs with Engineering leads.
- Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to lead without authority. You can influence senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs) and align cross-functional teams (Legal, Tech, Finance) toward a common goal.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Language: Fluent in English.
