As a Lead Product Manager for our Payments & Indirect Payroll domain, you will play a critical role in shaping and scaling Oyster’s global payments infrastructure. You will own the evolution of our payment collection and payout capabilities, ensuring seamless, compliant, and scalable financial flows across multiple geographies.
This role sits at the intersection of Product, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering, and is central to enabling Oyster’s mission of making global employment simple. You will drive automation and operational excellence across core financial workflows, while delivering a best-in-class experience for both customers and internal teams.
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy working in complex fintech environments, are comfortable navigating ambiguity, and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-growing, international scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Ownership
Define and own the mid- to long-term payments strategy, aligning it with Oyster’s broader product and business goals.
Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for payment collection, payouts, financial automation, and internal financial tooling.
Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable product solutions that support global growth.
Execution & Delivery
Drive the roadmap in close partnership with Engineering, Design, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
Ensure efficient, reliable, and compliant payment flows across multiple regions and currencies.
Continuously optimize back-office workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform scalability and resilience.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Act as the primary product point of contact for external PSPs, banks, and financial partners.
Collaborate closely with senior internal stakeholders to align on priorities, risks, and trade-offs.
Evaluate market trends, emerging technologies, and vendor offerings to inform build vs. buy decisions.
Customer & Data-Driven Leadership
Use customer research, product analytics, and operational insights to inform decision-making.
Champion the customer experience while ensuring internal teams have the tools they need to operate efficiently.
Clearly communicate product vision, progress, and impact across the organization.
Core Requirements
5+ years of Product Management experience, with a strong track record of ownership and delivery.
3+ years of experience in Fintech, ideally working with payments, payouts, or financial infrastructure.
3+ years of experience in a B2B, highly cross-functional environment.
Proven experience partnering closely with Engineering and Design teams in a product-led organization.
Strong data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate insights into clear product decisions.
Demonstrated experience operating in international, multi-cultural environments, working effectively across regions, time zones, and stakeholder groups.
A proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
