Role Summary

We’re looking to hire a Senior Manager, People Programs to play a pivotal role in delivering programs central to delivering a People Experience that inspires and motivates employees, drives Oyster towards its goals, fosters culture aligned with our values, and ensures ethical and responsible operations. A strong people experience is essential for Oyster’s success across a diverse and complex landscape.

The Senior Manager, People Programs will lead the development and delivery of our core People Programs working with your team of People Experience Generalists and Specialists to deliver programs in line with our company goals. You will oversee our employee experience, strategic programs, people data insights, and performance programs. Additionally, you will champion best practices and collaborate with the wider People team, Finance, Legal and other partners across the company to refine and develop the employee experience.

As a data-driven builder and an innovator, you are unafraid to try new things, build new processes, consistently innovate existing ones, and test creative new strategies. You understand when specific processes no longer serve as intended and require iteration. You thrive on details and operational excellence and hold a high bar for yourself, your peers, and your team.

This role will report to the Director, People Experience and lead our People Programs team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive People Programs strategy that propels high-performance culture, takes the employee experience to new heights and maintains cultural cohesion.

  • Manage the development and communications of People Programs including onboarding, offboarding, compensation and reward, and performance management and others as aligned with company goals.

  • Overall responsibility for people operations strategy and management of the People Operations and Programs team.

  • Iterate and advance our People Operations capacity model to refine and mature our integration with the Oyster platform and operations.

  • Oversee the development and delivery of internal communication strategies that aligns with Oyster’s goals and support our globally distributed teams, including central company communication campaigns, senior leadership communications, and change communications.

  • Identify areas for improvement in existing People Programs and design new initiatives to address gaps and ensure our programs scale and grow with our business.

  • Oversee and lead delivery of employee engagement programs, strategic programs, people data insights, enablement strategy, communications strategy, and performance programs.

  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of People Programs through data analysis and reporting, and continuously iterate and improve based on feedback and results.

  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts by developing and implementing strategies that create an inclusive and equitable work environment. Champion initiatives that support underrepresented groups and ensure fair and unbiased people practices across the organisation

  • Oversee company All Hands production ensuring it’s an engaging and informative experience that keeps employees up to date on company goals, key achievements, and highlights work aligned with our mission and values.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams across Oyster including Talent Acquisition, FP&A, Legal and Compliance.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and trends in People Programs, employee engagement, and high-performance cultures, and apply them to our organisation as appropriate.

Core Requirements

  • Proven experience designing and scaling People Programs in a fast-growing, global environment.

  • Adept at balancing standardized global programs with the specific cultural, legal, and operational nuances of multiple international jurisdictions.

  • A passion for building high-performance cultures that balance productivity with employee well-being and company values.

  • Strong analytical capability to deliver complex people analysis and reporting; specifically translating data insights into actionable strategies and measuring the long-term impact of people programs.

  • Experience acting as the leader overseeing company-wide messaging, including executive communications, change management communications, and company event production.

  • Experience designing and leading global enablement programs that provide managers and employees with the tools, training, and resources needed to succeed in their roles.

  • Proven ability to increase operational efficiency across people programs by identifying opportunities for automation and leveraging AI tools to streamline People Programs and administrative workflows.

  • Familiarity with global compensation structures, benefits, and reward recognition programs.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple high-stakes workstreams simultaneously.
