About the role:
As the Head of Events, you'll be responsible for shaping and executing our event strategy to drive pipeline growth and revenue. This role blends strategic event planning with hands on execution of tradeshows, hosted events, and digital experiences that highlight SaaS Labs' solutions to key target markets. Success in this position requires both a strong strategic vision and a keen attention to detail. As our first dedicated events hire, this will initially be an individual contributor role, with the potential to build and lead a team as you demonstrate the impact and growth potential of this channel for SaaS Labs.
What you'll do:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive event strategy aligned with revenue goals and GTM objectives
  • Own selection and management of annual events including tradeshows, customer events, partner and digital experiences
  • Manage annual event budget with demonstrated impact metrics
Event Operations & Management:
  • Lead end-to-end event execution including venue selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management
  • Design and execute engaging booth experiences, speaking sessions, and customer meetings
  • Develop and maintain crisis management and risk mitigation plans for all events
  • Lead on-site teams during event execution
  • Ensure compliance with event-specific regulations and company policies
Cross-functional Leadership:
  • Partner with sales leadership to align event strategy with territory goals and customer targets
  • Collaborate with product marketing to develop compelling event narratives and demos
  • Work with design team to create branded event experiences and materials
  • Coordinate with digital marketing for integrated pre/post event campaigns
  • Manage relationships with key industry partners and sponsors
Analytics & Reporting:
  • Track and report on key metrics including:
  1. Pipeline generated per event
  2. Cost per qualified lead
  3. Event ROI and attribution
  4. Attendance and engagement metrics
  5. Customer sentiment and feedback
Who you are:
  • 5+ years of B2B technology event management experience with demonstrated success scaling programs
  • Proven experience managing complex events
  • Strong project management skills with ability to lead multiple concurrent events
  • Experience with virtual/hybrid event platforms (e.g., Zoom Webinar, ON24)
  • Proficiency with event management software (e.g., Cvent, Bizzabo)
  • Working knowledge of CRM (Salesforce) and marketing automation (HubSpot)
  • Experience leading and managing event staff and contractors
  • Crisis management and risk mitigation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Located in the continental United States
  • Ability to frequently travel nationally and internationally, including occasional weekend and holidays
Bonus points:
  • Experience in CCaaS or related SaaS markets
  • International event management experience
  • Event management certifications (CMP, DES, etc.)
  • Experience marketing to SMB and mid-market segments
  • Salesforce or HubSpot certifications
