Automation QA Engineer
SUMMARY
The Automation QA Engineer is responsible for defining and driving the main quality loop for the Payments domain, with a strong focus on automated testing. This role owns the planning, implementation, and evolution of automated test coverage, with the goal of transitioning the team to a predominantly automated testing approach with minimal reliance on manual testing. The Automation QA Engineer works closely with engineering, product, and quality leadership to ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable test solutions that support fast and confident delivery

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, plan, and maintain the automated testing strategy for Payments functionality across a wide range of platforms, including web, mobile, and backend services
  • Lead the transition from manual to automated testing, ensuring critical flows are fully covered by automated tests
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve test scenarios, test data, and automation frameworks
  • Select, evaluate, and evolve testing tools and technologies to support effective automated testing
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to ensure testability is considered from the early stages of feature design across different platforms and system layers
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure they provide fast, reliable feedback
  • Analyze test results, investigate failures, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues
  • Establish and promote best practices for automated testing, code quality, and maintainability
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for test strategies, automation frameworks, and test coverage
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation for web and/or mobile applications
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites across multiple platforms
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, automation strategies, and quality engineering best practices across UI, API, and contract-level testing
  • Experience driving automation adoption and reducing reliance on manual testing in cross-functional teams, including selecting different testing approaches rather than relying on a single linear tool
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages commonly used for test automation, with the ability to choose the right tools and approaches based on the platform and testing goals
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into delivery workflows
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, TestRail, Postman, and debugging or proxy tools is a plus
  • English proficiency is a must; clear communication with English-speaking teammates is required
  • Must be based in Buenos Aires
  • Availability to work full-time from Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 local time, with onsite presence at the CABA office on Tuesdays and Thursdays
