Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Procurement team provides services to the businesses that are the backbone for Stripe. Stripe’s newly revamped broader Procurement organization consists of Third Party Risk, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Deal Management, Procurement Enablement, A/P & T&E.

About Supplier Deal Management (“SDM”)

To facilitate supplier deals with Strategic Sourcing and the business, we created a new Supplier Deal Management (SDM) team in 2022. This instrumental function builds an efficient supplier contracting process, reduces friction for business leaders, works in partnership with TPRM & Legal to minimize risk, and increases the velocity at which Stripe can engage key suppliers.

SDM Mission: Drive agreements efficiently via appropriate channels, bringing structure to the overall contracting process in partnership with stakeholders while providing a customized and guided user experience and effectively managing value and risk for Stripe.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Head of SDM but working very closely with SDM Leads, the Supplier Deal Manager will:

(i) Answer initial questions and educate DRIs on the overall risk assessment and supplier contracting process. (ii) Conduct initial review of the DRI provided use case and appropriate contractual terms (or assemble appropriate Stripe templates) and prepare agreements for legal review according to defined guidelines when necessary. (iii) Review and negotiate commercials in supplier agreements when needed. (iv) Keep a close eye on productivity and communication with DRIs using our zip procurement tool.

Responsibilities

  • Engage internal stakeholders (ie: Legal, Sourcing, Third Party Risk, and Stripe Buyers) to understand their needs and translate them into a risk-balanced approach to prepare contracts using training & existing frameworks
  • Manage engagements within our Procurement System (Zip) & Contract Lifecycle Management system (Agiloft)
  • Support end-to-end contract lifecycle management
  • Partner with respective internal teams to resolve business inquiries and troubleshoot issues related to contracting

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

  • 8 years of professional experience in contracting - (within a procurement, legal operations or other commercial deal negotiation capacity)

  • Experience with contract negotiations and being an effective partner to legal teams
  • Solution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing contracting best practices
  • Ability to earn trust quickly, deliver value for a critical & fast-paced function involving multiple stakeholders, and stand behind opinions with sound reasoning
  • Flexibility and comfort with changing requirements in a high volume environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a rigorous decision making process
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to represent Stripe effectively when interfacing with stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

  • Legal background with a penchant for operational excellence
  • Experience designing and managing a Contract Lifecycle Management system
  • Understanding of or experience with e-procurement tools and systems (ie: Zip, Oracle, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the fintech industry and its supply chain and procurement challenges
  • A builder's mindset and a willingness to question assumptions and conventional wisdom

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $117,800 - $176,700. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
