The People Process Optimization (PPO) team scopes, develops, deploys, and maintains the processes that underpin the seamless function of our most critical People team capabilities. We are strategy-driven individuals who utilize expert frameworks to add organization to chaos. We are looking for a Specialist with expertise in Lean methodologies and operations environments to drive holistic process optimization across our portfolios.

What you’ll do

You will apply your innovative thinking and technical fluency to optimize processes that enhance the employee experience. Your work will span the full process lifecycle, with a specific focus on leveraging AI and automation to simplify the user experience. You will be responsible for the holistic management of the PPO Portfolio, ensuring all delivery is grounded in robust data and clear ROI considerations.

Responsibilities

Process Optimization Excellence:

  • Apply process optimization frameworks to the holistic management of the PPO Portfolio, leading major optimization initiatives with significant complexity.

  • Drive discovery and analysis phases using expert optimization frameworks (Lean Six Sigma) to address root causes and deliver metrics-driven impacts.

  • Lead Service Catalog development to standardize and streamline People team offerings across multiple portfolios.

  • Create roadmaps for process improvements, applying rigorous ROI considerations to all prioritization frameworks and resource requests.

Technical Enablement, AI, & Automation:

  • Leverage AI and automation wherever possible to eliminate manual toil and proactively mitigate process bottlenecks.

  • Demonstrate high technical fluency by evaluating whether proposed technical solutions meet business requirements and system constraints.

  • Translate complex business needs into simplified, automated process designs that enhance the end-user experience.

  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring technical implementations deliver the intended ROI and operational excellence.

Strategic Alignment & Data-Driven Management:

  • Ensure all delivery is guided by strategic planning frameworks and aligned with broader organizational goals.

  • Operate as a cohesive cross-functional unit, collaborating extensively with stakeholders to navigate ambiguous process ownership.

  • Use robust data to identify "current state vs. future goals" and establish scalable frameworks to track progress and demonstrate measurable business value.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in process optimization or business process reengineering.

  • Deep expertise in DMAIC and other Six Sigma/Lean methodologies.

  • Proven ability to apply ROI analysis to project prioritization and decision-making.

  • Strong technical fluency with a track record of utilizing AI and automation to streamline enterprise processes.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a requirement that all delivery be grounded in data.

Preferred qualifications

  • Professional certification in Lean Six Sigma.

  • Experience in Service Catalog design or holistic portfolio management.

  • Experience optimizing processes within a high-growth tech environment (HR or Finance operations preferred).

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently live or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $122,100 - $183,100. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
