\nWeTravel is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced, and highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our talented software development team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in software engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing successful development projects. Your keen attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products and driving our team to excel.

\nEvery software team needs to be fast-paced & detail oriented to be successful. And it takes an exceptional Engineering Manager to make it happen with an agile, remote and international team of 6-8 people;

  • \nInspire, motivate and directly manage engineers in various roles,

  • \nOversee the entire software development life cycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and maintenance.

  • \nDevelop and implement effective project management methodologies and best practices, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products.

  • \nCollaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
  • \n
  • \nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, assisting with complex problem-solving and promoting continuous learning and professional growth.

  • \nMonitor and evaluate team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to optimize productivity and efficiency.

  • \nExcellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness.

  • \nExperience working in Fintech and developed payment solutions

  • \nDemonstrable software design and development experience for distributed systems; using one or more of the programming languages, preferably Java, Go, Python, Ruby
  • \n
  • \nDemonstrable experience with relational(e.g MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational(e.g MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases
  • \n
  • \nExperience with message brokers(e.g RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS)
  • \n
  • \nDeep knowledge on Computer Science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures
  • \n
  • \nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience of directly managing engineering teams
