Key Responsibilities

As an Events Specialist at WeTravel, you will play a pivotal role in developing and managing strategic partnerships and events to drive business revenue, growth and enhance our brand presence. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, business acumen, and a proven track record of successfully establishing and nurturing partnerships. This role requires a dynamic individual who can identify and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with external organizations, complimentary technology, associations, event organizers and stakeholders. It reports directly into the Head of Marketing and Communications, working closely with many stakeholders including regional Heads of Sales and Account Executives.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Events Development:
    • Identify and evaluate potential events/conferences aligned with company goals and values.
    • Develop a comprehensive events strategy to drive business objectives and increase market reach.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders.
    • Work with Community Manager to ensure internal events run smoothly + are high-impact.
  2. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement an events roadmap, outlining short-term and long-term objectives.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align partnership strategies with overall business objectives, with a focus on driving revenue.
    • Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to track cost per lead and return on investment for all events, use this base to evaluate events/conferences plan.
    • Align conference attendance and budget with business’s focus on ideal customer profiles, match “top accounts” to “key events” to make high-impact and support pipeline.
  3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Work with Inbound Ops and Marketing Ops to ensure all events are providing lead lists, when leads are scrubbed and tagged in HubSpot, work with Sales Managers to manage leads to get most ROI from events.
    • Track and analyze the performance of events/conferences through regular ROI reporting and analysis.
    • Regularly report on the effectiveness of partnerships and events and recommend adjustments as needed.
    • Manage and maintain event/conference budget, analyze further to create efficiencies.
  4. Communication and Brand Building:
    • Serve as one of the primary points of contact for external partners.
    • Effectively communicate the value proposition of partnerships to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Build brand through partner marketing channels, association channels and through event attendance, focus on tier 3+
  5. Cross-functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, and other teams to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
    • Training to other departments with onboarding of any new partnerships as required
    • Facilitate knowledge transfer and cross-functional cooperation to maximize partnership impact.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience managing events internally and externally, global business and B2B is an asset (travel industry even better!)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with CRM tools like HubSpot – and lead management.
  • Experience with project management tools like Monday.com
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate and measure partnership performance.
  • Familiarity with relevant industries and market trends, B2B or Travel Industry experience is an asset.
  • B2B events and CRM experience is an asset, specifically relating to understanding leads from events’ lists
  • Understanding of reporting on event success, specifically CPL and ROI
