Hi! 👋 I'm Josh, Chief Product Officer at WeTravel 🇳🇱
Multi-day travel businesses (think 7-day safari in the Serengeti or 5-day scuba diving in the Galapagos) use WeTravel as their all-in-one platform to manage sales processes, collect payments, and run the back office. Our powerful payment stack and AI-enabled solutions help travel businesses grow sales, save money, and save time - so that they can focus on delivering magical experiences.
For our clients (travel businesses), the number one value proposition of WeTravel is our global payment stack:
Pay-in: Travel businesses can collect payments around the world in various currencies and local payment methods securely and inexpensively.
Wallet: They can hold those currencies in WeTravel and convert between currencies at industry-leading rates (better than Wise).
-
Pay-out: Travel businesses can pay out from WeTravel in preferred currencies, assign WeTravel-issued cards to their guides to pay for group expenses, and even transfer money to their suppliers within WeTravel (like Venmo).
Behind these smooth and fast experiences are our integrations with leading payment processors around the world and, increasingly, orchestration across them. As our payment volume has grown rapidly and become the number one source of revenue, we’re looking for a dedicated owner for all things payment integration. This is one of the most impactful roles and you’ll work with our CEO, COO, and functional leaders on a weekly basis.
Join us to support passionate business owners and scale revenue at a fast-growing scaleup that has a healthy margin already. WeTravel is a 300-person company representing 50 countries (inclusivity is built-in) with the agility and closeness of a much smaller company. You’ll have fun moving fast to innovate with brilliant, low ego colleagues.
About the role
Your mission is to enable WeTravel clients to securely collect, hold, and pay out in (almost) any currency around the world in every relevant payment method at industry-leading cost efficiency and great end-to-end experience.
To do that, you’ll drive all things payment integration from ideation to launch and the feedback loop. Examples include:
Identify opportunities to launch new (and improve existing) currencies, payment methods, and payment service provider (PSP) integrations based on internal data, travel trends, and latest PSP capabilities. Prioritize opportunities with our CEO
Vet new PSPs and partner with our COO on negotiations
Write detailed, technical PRDs and partner with our payments engineering manager to lead implementations
Coordinate a smooth launch with Payment Operations, Finance, Support, Product Marketing, and other functions
Monitor performance metrics and client feedback to improve the experience
Ensure security, compliance, risk controls, and redundancy across all currencies and payment methods for both pay-in and pay-out
-
Manage relationships with PSPs’ technical account managers from the opportunity identification (they know the details) to implementations to post-launch performance management
An ideal candidate would have
6+ years of experience in payment integrations, plus ideally 3+ years as a technical program manager. Bonus points if you have worked as a technical account manager at a leading PSP or payment operations at a global scaleup
Payment nerd, who appreciates nuanced differences between Stripe’s API vs. Airwallex’s API and why that matters
Track record of driving implementations with speed and quality with attention to detail and collaboration mindset
Analytical skills to track payment performance and identify opportunities
Passion for building something that’s best in the world
-
Growth mindset
Why join us?
