Hi! 👋 I’m Erika, Director of Strategic Accounts at WeTravel. For over a decade, I’ve been passionate about driving growth in B2B SaaS by creating meaningful partnerships and leading high-performing sales teams across 50+ markets. At WeTravel, we get to partner with incredible tour operators to fuel their business growth, expand opportunities, and shape the future of multi-day travel.
About WeTravel
Multi-day travel businesses (think 7-day safari in the Serengeti or 5-day scuba diving in the Galapagos) use WeTravel as their all-in-one platform to manage sales processes, collect payments, and run the back office.
We monetize as a vertical SaaS for these multi-day travel businesses through transaction volume. This is possible because our clients trust WeTravel as their agent of payees, accepting payments from travelers on behalf of the travel businesses. WeTravel also acts as the merchant of record, processing the payments and handling the chargebacks. Therefore, it is undeniably essential that we protect our user funds from any bad actors, while ensuring that the funds move smoothly from pay-in (travelers) to payout (travel businesses and their suppliers).
How We Work
Our team thrives at the intersection of technical problem-solving, customer-facing collaboration, and deal strategy. We move fast, think creatively, and collaborate openly — and we expect everyone to take ownership of their work.
We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our commercial team and support our Account Executives on complex deals. You’ll be the trusted technical partner in the sales cycle — helping design solutions, scope integrations, and ensure prospects see how WeTravel’s platform can fit seamlessly into their workflows. This is a hands-on role where you’ll bridge commercial strategy with technical expertise.
You should apply if you:
-
Have 5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Pre-Sales role at a SaaS company.
Exceptional candidates with 3+ years and strong API/integration experience will also be considered.
Strong technical aptitude: comfortable with APIs, data integrations, and webhooks (hands-on setup experience is a plus).
Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to simplify technical topics for business stakeholders.
Commercial mindset with exposure to enterprise or strategic sales cycles.
Proven ability to collaborate across Sales, Product, and Engineering teams.
Based in Amsterdam (EU) or US East Coast for timezone alignment.
Bonus Points:
Background in travel, fintech, or B2B SaaS.
Light coding/scripting ability (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL) for testing integrations.
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and API testing tools (Postman, etc.).
-
Spanish speaking
Why You Shouldn’t Apply
You prefer a strictly individual contributor role without cross-team collaboration.
You want a purely technical job with minimal client interaction.
You dislike ambiguity or working in a fast-moving, startup-style environment.
You’re not excited about combining technical problem-solving with sales strategy to help clients succeed.
On a Weekly Basis You Will Find Yourself
Partner with Account Executives to support high-value, strategic opportunities.
Act as the technical expert in discovery calls, demos, and client workshops.
Scope, design, and occasionally implement API integrations or product workarounds to meet client needs.
Build and deliver tailored demos, POCs, and solution overviews.
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to escalate client feedback and advocate for feature requests.
Create technical documentation, integration guides, and best practice playbooks.
Train and enable the sales team to better position technical capabilities.
