About the role

The Data & Analytics team at DriveWealth creates data outputs and products for internal and external customers. We are looking for someone that thrives on making sure the data delivered to customers and external partners is exactly as intended. To make that happen the individual should be able to “think” like a customer and proactively seek out challenge points in the development process, address those challenges with tooling or process recommendations and create monitors that actively notify responsible parties in the data team or the application teams. Although this role focuses on data output, it will work across the technology team as necessary given how central data output is to growing and scaling DriveWealth.

Ensuring the quality of data is a key focus of DriveWealth as we process millions of financial data points each day. This role will build, maintain and monitor an automated data test suite that can scale with our business needs. It will be necessary to partner closely with the broader technology and product teams to ensure the development process and monitoring tooling can scale with the business. The candidate should be excited about working at a startup balancing competing priorities as an early member of a team focused on producing top tier data products.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop and maintain a suite of data automation tooling for testing and monitoring that spans from data ingestion to data output
  • Work with team to establish best in class development practices that put data quality first without unnecessarily hindering deployment time.
  • Act as a data evangelist on data quality and testing. Working across the company with Product Management, Development, and Operations to advocate for testing process through automation
  • Lead by example: writing testing plans and routines, manage continuous integration and regression testing processes
    • Create test plans and test cases
    • Execute and automate test cases, and perform bug tracking
    • Help create and implement quality processes and requirements
  • Be a thought leader on best in class practices for data quality, leading the decision of necessary tooling and workflow
  • Help ensure the broader data culture has quality at its core through designing, monitoring and maintaining QA reports, KPIs & quality trends
  • Work with the team on architectural discussions and end to end data product deliverables (from ingestion to final output)

What you'll need

  • 7+ years working in software and/or data engineering
  • 4+ years of automating backend testing of data outputs, including informing if not owning a portion of the development process
  • 2+ years as a people manager, including both full time employees and consultants
  • Strong knowledge of github and CI/CD framework for data teams (ideally experience with DBT)
  • Fluent in SQL and Python
  • Familiarity with Databricks
  • Experience working within larger data team balancing workload of establishing testing process, writing tests and verifying others work
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent program
  • Bonus points for
    • Brokerage experience (or related industry)
    • Familiarity with AWS
