Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, create, test, and ship better designs, together. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!

We’re looking for leaders across our engineering org who are excited about the challenges that come with rapid growth, and passionate about connecting people together through a positive and inclusive culture. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll work closely with your team, designers, PMs, and other engineering leaders to build and ship products and features that support our vision of helping teams and users collaborate.
The Production Engineering team focuses on end-to-end reliability, durability, scalability, and performance of Figma products and services. We’re looking for a Senior Manager to scale and drive the initiatives and programs that support Figma’s production engineering efforts, allowing our product teams to rapidly deliver new features. This is a critical part of success for both our ability to build new products and features, support the growth of our user base, and enable innovation for all engineering (infrastructure and product teams, alike).
We’re looking for a leader who has driven technological and organizational change across these areas successfully in the past, including owning systems like traffic and network systems, infrastructure automation (infra-as-code), and programs around reliability, scalability, and performance.

What you'll do at Figma:

  • As the first production engineering manager at Figma, you will set the vision and standard for a best-in-class PE function, in close collaboration with Engineering Directors and Managers.
  • Manage, support, and grow a diverse, high-functioning and highly engaged team of software engineers focused on reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to set strategy, priorities, and mission of a PE team that also supports Figma’s broader business priorities and mission.
  • Own the end-to-end reliability, scalability, and performance program for Figma products and end user experiences
  • Establish trust within and across teams by creating accountability and a positive work environment in partnership with other leaders in the organization.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in high-output, high-velocity engineering teams in roles (Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Network Engineer, Database Administrator or similar roles)
  • At least 3 years of experience as an engineering manager
  • Proven track record of supporting high velocity product teams, while maintaining high-uptime and reliability
  • A desire to build an inclusive and diverse culture
  • Experience scaling products and teams in hyper-growth environments

At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about engineering leadership at Figma but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for one of our roles!

About Figma

Dylan Field and Evan Wallace co-founded Figma in 2012 with the vision of building tools for designers in the browser. Their goal was to create the first design tool that combined the accessibility of the Web with the functionality of a native app. Today Figma is a platform with tools and spaces to support the entire product development process—idea to design to build—and has simplified collaboration for companies like Microsoft, Uber, and The New York Times to name a few.

At Figma, we celebrate and support our differences. We know employing a team rich in diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions allows our employees, products, and community to flourish. Figma is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national orientation, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.
