Figma

London, UK
Posted on Apr 19, 2024

Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, design and build better products — from start to finish. Whether it’s consolidating tools, simplifying workflows, or collaborating across teams and time zones, Figma makes the design process faster, more efficient, and fun while keeping everyone on the same page. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!

Key to Figma’s success is our community with the advocacy team being at the forefront! Community is important at Figma and is key to our bottom’s up adoption model and organic growth engine. As we scale into new geographies and audiences, we are looking for a leader to help take our community and advocacy team - a group of design practitioners and developers who plug their expertise into our community engagement, product development pipeline, and sales enablement from customer consultations, workshops, and Q&A sessions to unblock customers, to interacting and crafting content and resources to enable the community at large - to the next level. This person will connect the dots across teams and departments; setting strategy, showing impact, supporting cross functional company goals. We’re looking for someone to lead and help scale our community and advocacy efforts to power our growth in EMEA.

This is a full time role that can be held from our London or Berlin or Paris hub.

What you'll do at Figma:

  • Lead the EMEA Advocate Team: Lead and manage a team of world class Design and Developer Advocates who help scale our community engagement, sales enablement, and content efforts in EMEA – keeping the team motivated, engaged, and excited about their career growth.
  • Set the EMEA Community strategy: Set the vision for our EMEA community strategy targeting designers and developers and formalize our playbook for scaling community in EMEA as a key part of our bottoms-up go-to-market motion to support business growth (in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets); manage all community data, showing with metrics how community supports the business
  • Partner with Sales: Collaborate with regional Sales partners (Sales leadership, Sales enablement and Sales Consulting teams) to optimize our Advocacy engagement playbook, devise new ways to scale and manage all related metrics
  • Advocate for users with the product team: Help continuously improve internal processes to help designer/developer advocates bring together, synthesize, and share feedback to the product teams in a repeatable way; every customer engagement is a chance to learn more about how Figma can improve
  • Motivate and empower the Community: Maintain and build relationships with users in the community and identify ways to improve internal processes to track and measure community engagement
  • Enable Figma users at scale: Prioritise, assign, and work with the team to deliver the highest value 1:many content in partnership with regional marketing teams to support our customers and community (webinars, demos, best practices guides, Figma community resources, etc)

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience in community/advocacy/evangelism/product development
  • 5+ years leading a team
  • Strategic thought leader with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to influence and get stakeholders on board/inspire teams and other leaders at the highest levels of the org
  • Strong XFN incl. leadership collaboration, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with product designers and/or developer audiences and knowledge of product development workflows
  • Experience working in high-growth SaaS companies
  • Figma expertise (real world experience using it within a team is a plus)
  • Comfort-level with up to 25% of travel

While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

  • A curious nature, you find it easy to build relationships
  • A data-driven yet creative mind who likes bringing new ideas to existing projects and continuously pushes the team to try new things.
  • A love of bringing people together. Working with people outside of your team and outside of the company excites you. You like collaborating with new people and figuring problems out together.
