What we’re looking for
- We’re looking for our next Mid-weight Product Designer with strong skills in both UI and UX, a sharp eye for detail, and a user-first mindset, working alongside our two senior/principal product designers. You’ll play a key role in designing intuitive, beautiful, and scaleable product experiences across all products on our platform (Reviews, Loyalty, Referrals, Quizzes, and Surveys). This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers — from concept to implementation.
- This role is ideal for someone who’s confident owning end-to-end design work, curious about customer problems, and excited to grow their craft inside a fast-moving SaaS product.
How you'll create impact:
- Design polished, user-friendly interfaces that align with Okendo’s design system and brand
- Lead and execute end-to-end design processes: discovery, research, wire-framing, prototyping, testing, visual design, and handover
- Conduct user testing and integrate feedback into product decisions
- Work closely with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation of your designs
Help evolve and scale our design systems, patterns, and processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally across product, engineering, marketing, and customer success
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, design excellence, and user empathy
- Utilise Ai tools like claude, chat gpt, vercel V0, loveable to increase efficiencies in your design process, like early ideas prototyped for fast validation
What we need from you:
- Self-starter who thrives in a remote, fast-paced environment
Iterate quickly — testing, learning, and improving based on feedback and outcomes
- Strong foundation in UX, interaction design, and visual hierarchy
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, must be able to advocate for the merchant and shopper experience while balancing business and technical needs
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of product design execution and design thinking We want to know how you tackle complex or nuanced product problems and resolve them, what tradeoffs you’ve made and why.
- Experience working with design systems (we use Figma & Storybook)
- Familiarity with usability testing and UX research methods
- Strong market/design research skills and keen understanding of how visual layouts and hierarchy affect user experiences
- Comfortable collaborating with engineers to ensure designs are feasible, buildable, and polished
- Curious, collaborative, and comfortable with ambiguity
Previous experience with Shopify or e-Commerce is ideal (but not required)
- 3–5+ years of experience in a UI/UX design role (preferably in SaaS or tech)
- Based in Australia with the right to work in Australia indefinitely and without sponsorship.
