As a Senior Manager, Treasury & Capital Markets, you will work as a strategic partner within the Treasury team and interact directly with banking partners, lenders, investors, fintechs, capital markets counterparties, and key functional leaders within Wealthsimple to support Treasury initiatives and broader product launches. As a trusted advisor, you will provide advice and collaborate with leaders in product, operations, trading, finance, legal, regulatory & compliance to find creative solutions to complex problems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Apply a growth mindset, experiment with new ideas, explore new approaches to challenge the status quo to continuously improve
- Work in a fast-paced organization and growing Treasury team to build best-in-class capital markets capabilities and enable a product offering that delights Wealthsimple clients
- Lead and manage the credit card financing as a primary stakeholder to scale Wealthsimple’s credit card program
- Spearhead and execute capital markets and financing initiatives from inception as a deeply integral partner to Wealthsimple product launches
- Drive negotiations with banking partners, lenders, fintechs, and capital markets counterparties in order to stand up new capital markets and financing capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with Capital and Liquidity Management and Cash and Collateral Management functions to create and optimize funding plan and operationalize financing capabilities
- Foster and deepen banking partner, lending, counterparty relationships and identify new and innovative partnership opportunities
- Oversee Wealthsimple's Treasury investment portfolio to propose and execute on investment and risk management strategies, including managing corporate foreign currency exposure and interest rate exposure
- Propose hedging strategies and work with the controller team to ensure proper accounting treatment
- Manage and enhance Investment and Foreign Currency Risk Management policies
- Build and enhance automated workflows and generate complex Treasury analyses using AI models
We're looking for someone who has:
- A passion for Wealthsimple, fintechs, technology, and AI
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly ambiguous settings, building products and processes from the ground up with limited guidance
- Proven creative problem solver, who is resourceful in overcoming obstacles and can push the boundaries of conventional thinking
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with superior attention to detail
- 8+ years of Treasury and Capital Markets experience with direct external counterparties negotiation and engagement.
- Robust asset-backed financing and securitization knowledge and experience, track record of successfully executing new facilities from front to back (e.g. corporate debt facilities, warehouse facilities, ABS/securitization)
- Prior experience in negotiating capital markets financing transactions: ISDA, securities lending/repo agreements
- Deep experience standing up a financial product or program, leading a large scale project from start to finish
- Comprehensive understanding of foreign currency and interest rate risk management, Treasury investment portfolio management
- Ability to distill complex concepts a non-Treasury audience and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
