Build something people love
Wealthsimple's mission is to help everyone achieve financial freedom – by making financial services simple, transparent, and low-cost. We're Canada's largest fintech, trusted by over 3 million clients with more than $100 billion in assets. We move fast, we own our work, and we care deeply about the people using our products. If that sounds like you, keep reading.
We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual and learn more about how we work.
What This Is
Wealthsimple Accelerators is an 18-month program for exceptional new graduates who want to build products that matter, not PowerPoints.
This isn't a rotational program in the traditional sense. It's an ownership program. You won't shadow. You won't observe. Every six months, you'll own something real — a product feature, an AI workflow, a revenue initiative, an operational breakthrough — and ship it.
If you're looking for a structured consulting path, this isn't it. If you want to build financial products used by millions of Canadians while developing rare skills at the leading edge of craft and technology, keep reading.
Eligibility
Before applying, please confirm:
You will have completed your undergraduate or masters degree by September 2026
You are legally eligible to work in Canada
You are able to come into our Toronto office 3-4 times per week
What You'll Do
Over 18 months, you'll complete three 6-month chapters across high-impact functions and each chapter ends with something shipped- a measurable outcome, a demo to Director+ and executive leadership, and a spotlight of what you built.
Rotation 1 (Months 1–6): Understand How We Operate Learn how Wealthsimple scales, makes decisions, and delivers value to clients. → Example: Redesign a workflow that impacts thousands of client interactions daily
Rotation 2 (Months 7–12): Build Cross-Functional Fluency Work at the intersection of product, operations, and technology. → Example: Launch a pilot that tests a new way of serving clients at scale
Rotation 3 (Months 13–18): Drive Impact & Own Outcomes Lead a business-critical project. Demonstrate you're ready for a Senior Associate role. → Example: Design and implement a go-to-market strategy for a new product feature
Throughout the program, you'll work on projects that ship and matter- not case studies- get mentored by Director-level leaders, build relationships with executives and subject matter experts, and develop skills you won't find in any other new grad program: product thinking + craft depth + technology fluency.
At Wealthsimple, every team member is expected to lean into new technologies- including AI and emerging tools - to rethink how we work and create greater value. We're looking for people who aren't just comfortable with change, but energized by it.
Who We're Looking For
You're graduating from a Canadian university- any discipline. Business, engineering, arts, sciences, design, interdisciplinary. It doesn't matter what you studied. What matters is:
You're a builder. You've started something, led something, or made something happen. Entrepreneurial ventures, clubs you've founded or scaled, meaningful work experience, projects that show you execute.
You're a systems thinker. You understand how things connect, scale, and evolve- whether that's business functions, technical systems, or organizational dynamics. You can see the forest and the trees.
You're impact-driven. You want your work to matter to real people, not just look good on a resume. You learn fast, fail smart, and grow quickly.
You're AI-native- or on your way there. You're curious about how technology reshapes the way work gets done. You look for tools that increase your leverage, not your workload.
You bring a diverse perspective. Engineers who want to understand the business side. Designers who think about strategy. Humanities students who bring critical thinking and storytelling. Scientists who approach problems analytically. Business students who want hands-on product experience. We care about what you've accomplished and how you think.
You Might Be a Fit If...
You've operated like an owner, even when you weren't: You interned somewhere and didn't just complete assigned tasks- you identified problems, proposed solutions, and shipped improvements like the company's success depended on you. Your manager said you "acted like a founder, not an intern."
You've founded something from scratch: You didn't just join an existing club or organization- you built one. You recruited the first members, figured out the model, secured the funding, and made it sustainable. It might still be running today because you built it to last.
You've taken responsibility for problems that weren't yours: Campus advising was a mess. Student mental health resources were impossible to find. The nonprofit you volunteered at had no systems. You didn't wait for someone else to fix it- you took ownership and built the solution.
You've shipped something, learned it failed, and built better: You launched a product that got signups but no usage. Or started an initiative that didn't take off. Instead of walking away, you figured out why, learned from real feedback, and applied those lessons to what you built next. That one succeeded.
You can't help but improve things: When you see something inefficient, broken, or unnecessarily complicated, it bothers you until you fix it. You've improved processes, built tools, or redesigned workflows- not for credit, but because they needed to be better and you could make them better.
You've coordinated something complex: Maybe you organized an event for 100+ people. Or you managed a budget, secured partnerships, and delivered something way bigger than you initially imagined. You figured it out because someone had to
